The internet problem in the Estates
Golden Gate Estates covers over 170 square miles of Collier County east of Naples. It’s the largest subdivision in the country by land area, with thousands of homes spread across 2.5 to 5+ acre lots connected by a grid of unpaved and semi-paved roads.
That footprint is the problem. Even with ongoing buildout, wired infrastructure in the Estates is still uneven. Comcast cable now reaches large portions of 34120, but not every street. Comcast fiber has expanded in pockets since 2023, but remains address-specific rather than universal.
CenturyLink copper still exists across much of the Estates, but the product is increasingly legacy. Many residents report limited new-service availability, and where DSL is active, performance still degrades with distance and copper condition.
For years, the default answer was satellite. HughesNet or Viasat would sell you a plan with “fast” speeds on paper. But 500+ millisecond latency made video calls painful, gaming impossible, and even basic browsing sluggish. Data caps of 40-200 GB per month meant a family could burn through their allotment in under two weeks.
The Estates deserved better. It just took a while for the right technology to show up.
What’s available in Golden Gate Estates
Here’s the honest breakdown of internet options for Estates residents:
CenturyLink DSL. Legacy service across many Estates addresses, but new-account availability can be limited. Where active, speeds vary widely and are often constrained by copper distance and line quality.
Comcast/Xfinity cable. Available in many parts of Golden Gate Estates (roughly 80% by local field experience), but still not universal. You can see one served block and one unserved block in the same zone, so address checks are mandatory.
Comcast fiber. Expanding in parts of the Estates since 2023, but still a partial footprint. Some neighborhoods have nearby fiber plant while adjacent streets are not yet lit for service.
Starlink. Available everywhere with a clear sky view. Plans from $50-120/mo with a $349 equipment purchase. Typical speeds of 25-220 Mbps, but variable depending on network conditions and plan tier. Better than traditional satellite on latency and speed. Support is handled online and through the Starlink app. See our full Starlink comparison for details.
Streamline fixed wireless. Available across much of the Estates. Speeds from 100-600 Mbps. $99.99-219.99/mo residential. Unlimited data, no contracts, free installation. 10-30ms latency. Local support team based in Hendry County.
Why fixed wireless works here
The Estates sit on some of the flattest terrain in Florida. That’s a huge advantage for fixed wireless. Tower signals travel in straight lines, and flat ground means fewer obstructions between your home and the nearest tower.
Streamline’s tower network delivers 100-600 Mbps to homes across the Estates. A small antenna on your roof or exterior wall connects to the nearest tower, which backhauls to the internet backbone. The signal travels a few miles, not 22,000 miles to orbit.
That short distance is why latency is 10-30 milliseconds instead of 500+. Video calls are smooth. Gaming works. Web pages load instantly. VPN connections hold steady.
Streamline uses non-line-of-sight (NLOS) technology, so tree cover and typical vegetation are not a barrier to service. Most Estates addresses can get connected. The flat terrain of Southwest Florida also helps — signals from our towers travel efficiently across the area.
Streamline coverage in the Estates
The 34120 zip code covers most of Golden Gate Estates. Our tower network provides coverage across the area, though availability varies by address depending on distance from our nearest tower.
The best way to check is to enter your address on our availability page. We’ll confirm whether we can serve your location and what speeds to expect.
If your address doesn’t currently have coverage, let us know. Our network is expanding, and knowing where demand exists helps us prioritize new tower sites.
Which plan for your household
Essential ($99.99/mo, 100 Mbps). Good for 1-2 people. Handles streaming, browsing, and email without issue. If you’re coming from DSL, this alone will feel like a different world.
Plus ($149.99/mo, 200 Mbps). The sweet spot for most families. Handles multiple simultaneous streams, video calls, remote work, and online gaming. Includes mesh Wi-Fi for whole-home coverage. This is what most Estates residents choose.
MAX ($219.99/mo, 300 Mbps). For heavy-use households. Multiple remote workers, gamers, and streamers all going at once. Burst speeds up to 600 Mbps. Mesh Wi-Fi included. Priority support.
Every plan includes unlimited data, no contracts, free standard installation, and a lifetime price lock. See all plans →
Getting connected
The process is simple:
- Check your address. We’ll confirm coverage and show you available plans.
- Pick a plan. No commitment required. Every residential plan is month to month.
- Schedule installation. A local technician handles everything. A small antenna goes on your roof or exterior wall, and a Wi-Fi router gets set up inside. The whole process takes about an hour.
- Get online. Most customers are installed within a week of signing up.
That’s it. No contracts to sign. No equipment to buy. No satellite dish taking up your yard.
If you’re tired of buffering, data caps, and internet that can’t keep up with your household, check your address and see what Streamline can do for your spot in the Estates.
What people in Collier County are saying.
"Best decision I've made finding this company. During hurricanes, I have been up and running with my internet when others have complained they are down for hours to weeks! The entire group of employees are top-notch, responsive, friendly and knowledgeable. During times when the internet is down for over 15 minutes, I usually get a text message via phone that tells me what is going on and an ETA for being fixes. AND they usually get it fixed within minutes of sending the text!! Instead of getting your blood pressure up trying to get an honest response from the usual internet companies, you need to switch to Streamline....I am glad I did. "
"We LOVE Streamline Internet!! Fantastic staff! Great service! Love that they communicate with you if there is ever an issue. We've never lost service even through last years hurricane season which is mind blowing! We've referred them to our family and friends especially if you live out in the Estates! "
"I have now had Streamline Internet for almost 2 years and the service is fast and reliable. But even better is the customer service, I have a couple of issues and they are at my house and solved them quickly, I also had a lighting strike and they replaced all the parts I needed super fast and was back up and running right away. If you are in golden gate estates, I would definitely give Streamline a call. "
